[Compassion]

We care about children and their families impacted by Ewing’s sarcoma.

Services – Offering small, yet meaningful support

Through direct donations made to Anya Elyse La Mar Foundation our wish is to help in some small way, families who have a child with Ewing sarcoma.

Ewing sarcoma can be a very painful cancer needing strong medications, multiple surgeries, and therapy, both physically and mentally. Our contributions hope to provide some comfort through “Distraction Days”.  There are times where leaving the house or hospital may not be possible. But there are also doctor approved days where children with Ewing sarcoma can enjoy some time out, free of the hospital smells and sounds that becomes so much a part of their days and nights.

Children do form bonds with their doctors, nurses, and children support staff who spend time playing, talking or doing crafts while under treatment. That said, we hope to help enable some time to enjoy something new or revisit a favorite place or event.

Some “Distraction Days” options to investigate together are:

  • Family night to a favorite movie
  • Dinner out or favorite “take-out” for the family
  • Museum, Aviary or Zoo passes
  • Night out to paint or craft
  • Art therapy
  • Yoga classes
  • Baseball game night
  • Mini golf and ice cream

Resources – We want to provide resources that may be of interest to families who have children with Sarcoma.

Through experience and sincerity, we mention and / or offer links to information that may be of importance.

  • Dana Farber Cancer Institute
  • US News and World Report that ranks pediatric cancer hospitals
  • Trial information for Ewing’s specifically / other sarcomas
